Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life.
Genesis 9:12-15
I saw a rainbow yesterday framed by palm trees
and with the background of clouds so gray they almost looked blue. It was
beautiful and clear, long and bright. I hoped it was a sign of God’s covenant,
a sign of hope. I am praying, many of my friends are praying, many people I don't even know are praying.
As of this now Tropical Storm Isaac has moved
farther south and remains a tropical storm. I continue to pray that this
beautiful rainbow brings mercy, grace, hope and promise to the people of Haiti
and all those in fragile living situations in the Caribbean.
